Mexico offers something interesting for everyone: whether you prefer jungle, mountains, deserts, tropical beaches or cultural sites -such as the Mayan temples- you are able to find something to your liking. The same goes for diving. Scuba diving in Mexico is extremely diverse with the Pacific Ocean on the west and the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico on the (north) east. Dive Cenotes (Sinkholes) in Yucatan, enjoy the fastest drift-dives at Cozumel or have Shark, Manta and Whale encounters at Socorro, Mexico's version of the Galapagos Islands.

The most popular area is the Yutacan peninsula, with its Great Maya Barrier Reef, with Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Cozumel as the most visited locations. Yucatan is world-famous for its Cenotes, which are land-based sinkholes. But if you are looking for large marine life, such as sea lions, dolphins, great white, whale sharks, hammerheads, Orca’s (killer whales), and various other whales, head West to the Sea of Cortez. The Mexican “Galapagos” are a liveaboard destination on the (South) West: Socorro (Revillagigedos Archipelago). See the individual sections on these areas below.
