At the crossroad of Europe and Asia, Turkey boasts a unique mixture of influences from the Mediterranean, the Middle East, Central Asia and the Balkans. It is the most oriental destination of the Western countries and the most occidental of the Eastern ones. The country has impressive (UNESCO listed) archeological sites with Islamic monuments, mosques, churches, bazars and hilltop fortresses. Diving is becoming more popular and although not as rich and exotic as the Red Sea it is one of the better diving destinations in the Mediterranean Sea.

Turkey has a coastline of over 8,000 km. It is a typical family destination and there are many activities and sites to explore. The Turkish Riviera in the southern coastline is very popular, especially the coastal towns like Alayna, Antalya, Bodrum, Fethiye, Marmaris and to a lesser degree Kaş. Having said that, the latter is perhaps the best diving destination in Turkey.
